To avoid money pits an unbiased home inspection is necessary. Many home inspectors market their services to realtors, I do not. This prevents a conflict of interest. I only work in your best interest. My philosophy is to be blunt about the condition of the home or commercial building. I will not minimize problems to help effect a sale. My job is to give a straight forward report of existing problems. This will help assure that the house / building is made safe and that unexpected expendatures do not occur.
I will do the following:
- Inspect the structural, mechanical and electrical, etc., parts of the house in accordance with the Connecticut or Massachusetts home inspection standards.
- I will perform a termite and other wood destroying insect inspection.
- I will create a written report (no checklists).
- I will be candid and blunt. If the home or commercial property needs work; I will tell you.
- I will help you negotiate a lower price.
Environmental, septic systems, and other inspections are available at extra costs.
